The Mainline Steam NZ Tour in 2011 featured the only ever trip by a Ka from Napier to Gisborne. Enroute to Napier the train crosses Kopua Viaduct, the last of 6 steel trestles north of Dannevirke. The Napier-Gisborne line closed in 2012.
