Uncle Pete Learns Service With Courtesy: Two of the ten Union Pacific GP60s on CSX to repay horsepower hours lead F729 through the outskirts of Cary on an windy March afternoon.
This trackage once belonged to the Durham and Southern Railway. Their slogan was "Service with Courtesy" and their black and white Baldwins, and later GP38-2's, personified a classic southern short line. The D&S became a part of Seaboard Coast Line in 1976. Although the train is heading in a southerly direction, it is heading north on the timetable, as it is moving closer to the Ex-Seaboard S-Line at Apex.
