The west side of Lawton, OK has an ample amount of industrial business for a shortline, in this case the Stillwater Central (SLWC). The 275-mile line is a former SLSF route owned by the state of Oklahoma, whose lease was reassigned from BNSF to SLWC over a decade ago. Here, a pair of nicely decorated ‘SLWC’ (WAMX) SD40-2’s are parked near the massive Goodyear plant awaiting their next tour of duty to switch the yard in Lawton.
