As viewers may have surmised, I'm really a 'steam' man so I'm always on the lookout for new vantage points for a 'locomotive in the landscape'. It seems unlikely that this fine location will see the passage of a steam-hauled special any time soon, so in the meantime, here's a pleasing image of a Class 66 with a freight! Methley Junction is about half a mile behind this westbound train which is crossing the River Calder bridge at Woodnock Lock, near Normanton. In about five miles, the Calder will be crossed again at Eastmoor just before reaching Wakefield.
