Even though the Western Pacific railroad became a part of the Union Pacific in 1982 the WP still lives on in Portola, CA at the WPRM. The museum owns a number of old WP engines, passenger cars, and freight cars that they proudly display to the public. One of their more historic pieces is the WP 805A, the last surviving WP FP7 from the famed California Zephyr. Here the 805A sits with WP 925 (ex CN B-unit) and former California Zephyr dinning car "Silver Plate" during Portola railroad days.
