In a move that nearly gave me a heart attack, I recieved NS 212's transmission and believed they said: "Approach Diverging track 2 Cornelia out " and as I was enroute to Mount Airy to set up for my shot I recieved NS 221's transmission as " Approach milepost 555 track 2 NS 221 out ". When I arrived at CP Mt. Airy, I noticed a signal man in the signal box and observed a " Diverging approach " signal for NS 221 pictured here in track 2. Needless to say, I thought the worst as I watched NS 221 continue through the plant at Mt. Airy. What I didn't hear in those transmissions is what was played out. NS 212 got an " Approach " signal while NS 221 recieved an " Approach Diverging " signal. I am proud of all the hard work that the guys and gals here on the Piedmont put in for Norfolk Southern, so I need to rest assured that " they know what they're doing "!
