Union Pacific's Oregon City Switcher has just pulled one boxcar off the "short track" at the Blue Heron Paper Company's mill in downtown Oregon City. At right, vehicles on state highway 99E wait at the Main Street traffic light, which includes a signal for the railroad. The trackage once belonged to the Portland Traction Company interurban line, and still retains a curve tight enough to require the use of short, end-cab switchers.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
