IEI coal trains for East Dubuque, IL, have been around a long time. They way they move thru Iowa has changed over the years as railroads have changed. In 2010, BNSF power run thru with 132 loads in aluminum cars and 2x1 DP power, but in 1998 a CC GP 38 leads 3 BNSF motors, 2 C30-7's and a SD40. Steel coal trains were still the way of the land and 100 car trains were the norm.
