For the first time since 1968, QR operated a Suburban Steam Service from Ipswich to Shorncliffe (and return) for the purpose of driver training. When steam ruled the rails in Queensland, this was corridor for steam services operated by Train Crew of the North Ipswich Shed. The first school ran from April 19 to 21, 2010 and the second from May 17 to 19, 2010. It has been reported other schools will be run later this year. In this photo, the Steam Locomotive and WSE Water Wagon partially hide in the overgrown Y-Angle (located on Sandgate Golf Club) at Shorncliffe as passengers watch on from the platform.
