Beginning on December 27, the Ski Train will once again return to Denver's Union Station. The San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad worked tirelessly with Amtrak, Union Pacific, the city of Denver, and the Winter Park ski resort among others to make this a reality for at least one more season. Providing the power for the Ski Train will be these freshly painted SD90MACs recently acquired from CITX. I realize beggars can't be choosers, but if it had been me, I would have put Rio Grande speed lettering on the nose! UPDATE Dec 28: The Ski Train has been cancelled for the 2009-2010 season. Iowa Pacific (the company that owns the San Luis & Rio Grande) and Amtrak could not reach an agreement to run the train and so ends a 69 year tradition...WAY TO GO, GUYS!
