More than 130 mechanical refers are stored and tied down on a portion of Union Pacific's Tintic Industrial Lead at Spanish Fork, Utah. Spanning a distance of more than 1-1/2 miles of track, these refers await a return to service when the economy picks up and shipments of produce by rail resume. Historically, this line was once a busy D&RGW branch, moving carloads of limestone daily between the Keigley Quarry near Santaquin and the United States Steel mill at Geneva. Busy Interstate highway 15 is visible to the right of the Tintic.
