Olin Matheison NW5 #4, originally built for the Fort Street Union Depot (Detroit) as #1 in 1947, works the plant in Saltville in October 1971. The following year the plant would close due to new EPA regulations which resulted in the loss ove over 1,000 jobs for the rural town.
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
